AddSecure’s climate transition plan: driving towards net-zero by 2050

At AddSecure, we believe that technology is a powerful force for good. This is reflected in our climate transition plan. As a provider of secure IoT solutions that help customers optimise their operations and reduce emissions, we recognise that our own operations must also lead by example.

We have set ambitious climate targets aligned with the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C goal and are proud to announce our formal commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Our objective is to have our climate targets validated by 2026.

With 58% of total emissions stemming from purchased goods and services, with a target to reach a 65% reduction by 2030, the plan accounts for an “innovation gap” related to supplier performance, market development, and the continuous development and innovation in AddSecure’s own portfolio and business outline.

For us, creating more value out of less product isn’t just about cutting emissions. It’s about staying profitable and resilient in a world facing geo-political instability and growing resource scarcity. The fact that our business strategy aligns with our carbon plan doesn’t make the challenge any less, but certainly more manageable.

Our climate goals:

  • Net-zero GHG emissions across our value chain by 2050
  • 42% reduction in total GHG emissions by 2030 (from a 2023 baseline)
  • 51.6% reduction in Scope 3 emissions per unit revenue by 2030

Key actions across scopes:

Scope 1: Transitioning 95% of our company car fleet to electric, hybrid, or plug-in hybrid vehicles.
Scope 2: Achieving 100% renewable electricity in offices and warehouses, and optimising office space for energy efficiency.
Scope 3:

  • Reducing air freight emissions by using 85% sustainable aviation fuel.
  • Cutting business travel emissions by 68% through our digital-first policy.
  • Promoting low-carbon commuting—targeting 85% of commutes via public transport or electric/hybrid vehicles.
  • Reducing emissions from purchased goods and services by 65% through eco-design, reuse, and a shift toward software-based offerings.

Creating more value with less product

Our strategy to “Create more value out of less product” is central to decoupling growth from hardware use. This includes:

  • Offering products as a service
  • Designing for durability and reuse
  • Promoting software and data-driven solutions
  • Partnering with OEMs for sustainable sourcing

Governance and accountability

Our plan is backed by the Central Management Team and Board of Directors, with annual reviews and transparent reporting to ensure we stay on track.

We’re not just adapting to the future—we’re helping shape it. By embedding sustainability into every layer of our business, AddSecure is committed to being a catalyst for positive change.
